There are several ways to address undesired/unwanted hair issues. Hair can be removed via temporary and permanent means. Temporary measures include shaving, waxing, chemical depilatories, and sugaring. These methods are time consuming and if done professionally, amount to a sizable cost over time. In addition, problems with ingrown hairs and follicle irritation can arise and are often worsened by this type of hair removal.

Permanent hair removal is achieved with electrolysis and laser / light treatments. Electrolysis has been around for over 100 years. It is effective, but very time consuming. It has risks of pigment disturbances and pitted scarring. It is an effective treatment for all unwanted hair colors (including white, blond, grey and strawberry blond.

Laser / Light based hair removal is a newer form of permanent hair removal. It has been around for almost 20 years and has seen many advances, particularly in the last decade. When used by a skilled operator, it has a better safety profile than electrolysis. It is fast and convenient. Far fewer treatments are required (5-8) when compared to the older electrolysis technique. Laser hair removal works on any brown to black hair (it is not indicated on blond to white hair).
