Medical Microdermabrasion
Medical Microdermabrasion
Medical Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive, gentle abrasion (skin polishing) treatment followed immediately with a glycolic chemical peel and a gentle, penetrating oxygen mist to continue treatment of the surface of the skin.
The medical microdermabrasion system propels natural mineral crystals onto the surface of the skin to reveal newer, healthier younger looking skin. The surface layer of skin collects harmful environmental elements. By uniformly removing this layer of dead, impacted cells, the surface is refined and smoothed. The skin is quite pink and receptive.
A mild chemical peel is a non-invasive technique for restoring blemished, unevenly pigmented, or sun-damaged facial skin; it peels away the skin’s damaged outer layers. A solution of glycolic fruit acid is applied immediately following the skin polishing to continue to treat the surface of the skin. The glycolic is customized for skin type and specific problem areas. The final treatment is a spray of cool medical grade oxygen containing skin enhancing nutrients: amino acids, electrolytes, Vitamin E and a special mineral rich activator called amino-plex.
Recent discoveries have shown that, when a series of Medical Microdermabrasion are performed within a short time interval, the effect is greater than aggressive polishing and deep peeling procedures. The patient avoids a long and inconvenient recovery time.

• Acne scars
• Sun damaged skin
• Uneven and granular skin
• Uneven pigmentation/Melasma/Hyper-Hypo Pigmentation
• Superficial injury scars

• It is common to experience some temporary flaking or scaling, redness and dryness of the skin.
• Do not touch or peel the flaking skin – add moisturizer.
• Avoid frequent face washing with water because it dries the skin too much.
• You may want to wait one day to apply makeup.
• Do not use glycolic, Retin A, exfoliants or astringents for two days after the treatment.
• Avoid extreme heat for two days (direct sun, sauna, hot tubs, Jacuzzi, tanning beds)
• If drugs for herpes (cold sores) were prescribed, they should be continued until the prescription is complete.
• Immediate return to normal activities.
• Begin a regular program of sunscreens and sun protection. Avoid sun exposure for one month following the series of peels.
* If you are prone to herpes (cold sores), ask us for a prescription for Zovirax. You will need to treat these cold sores for 24-48 hours prior to treatment and 24-48 following treatment.
