Lipo-reduction

Lipo-reduction

Before your Lipo-Reduction:

• Avoid the use of aspirin or aspirin containing medications for one week before each treatment, unless medically necessary, and in that situation, continue your aspirin and advise the staff.
• Avoid caffeine on the day of treatment. There are some ‘caffeine-like’ components to the formulation, which can make people feel ‘jittery’ in combination with natural caffeine.
• Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing, or bring it with you to change into at time of treatment.
• If you are nervous about needles or find the treatment painful, you may use a topical anesthetic cream. Please ask the staff for instructions.

During your Lipo-reduction treatment:

• The area is thoroughly cleansed.
• The area to be treated may be temporarily marked to ensure good coverage.
• The region is injected using a fine micro-needle.
• The treated zone is cleansed a second time after treatment.

After your Lipo-reduction:

• You may dress and resume your normal activities.
• The treated region may feel tender to touch for two to four days. You may experience a ‘bruised’ feeling.
• You may develop a few bruises – make up can be applied if desired.
• Observe the area for any difficulties. If any problems arise, please contact the Clinic immediately.

Most Lipo-reduction treatments are spaced one week apart, in a series of four to ten, depending on the degree of correction desired. Eye areas are treated every two weeks, as the eye area is unique in that it can be temporarily ‘puffy’ for several days after treatment.
