There are several ways to address flushing, vessels, vessel moles and vascular issues. When you come to Cosmetic Care, our knowledgeable personal image consultants will review your issues and help to guide you in your treatment decision path. A healthy balanced approach always works the best.

Prevention: Everyone should begin with excellent skin care. It is important to understand the role of the sun in prematurely damaging our skin and complexion. The personal image consultant will provide each client with education on UV protection, use of topical vitamin C, the use of live stabilized cellular creams, and the use of your DNA analysis for customized anti-aging skin care.

Flushing, vessels and vessel moles Active treatment: Medical treatment – Our medical team may start with a recommendation for pharmacologic products. We offer cosmetic medical advice as a service to all our clients. In order to keep our medical team accessible to our cosmetic caseload, we provide this service to clients who are obtaining cosmetic treatments. We are not able to handle the volume of regular medical dermatologic conditions. Thus, anyone with purely a medical dermatologic issue is referred back to their primary care physician, or their regular dermatologist.

IPL: Intense pulsed light treatments are our most advanced vessel clearing care. In this gentle series of treatments heat is transferred to the undesired blood vessel walls to cause their ultimate demise. This treatment effectively and dramatically reduces the vascularity. Extra benefits with this treatment include a reduction in undesired pigmentation. Occasionally, improvements in tone, texture and fine lines can be observed. A series of 6 is recommended.

IPL with Levulan: This is the most advanced form of IPL treatments. In this treatment regimen, a brief and very gentle microdermabrasion treatment is performed, followed by the application of Levulan. Levulan is a light sensitizing medication. We intentionally use this type of medication with the lights to enhance the penetration of the light into the tissue for the most rapid and dramatic of results. Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is an injection technique to address the small red-purple veins of the legs. Sclerotherapy is a series of injections, with a solution of concentrated salt and sugar. It is interesting to note that, although these substances are a necessary component in our bodies, when injected in concentrated form, they cause the purposeful injury to the lining of the undesired blood vessels. The body responds to this purposeful injury by sending in cells that are responsible for healing and inflammation. These immune cells gradually dissolve away the destroyed vessels. This reaction results in the gradual reduction in the number and size of vessels with every treatment.

What about…..? What about skin tightening light based treatments? Skin tightening treatments (ST treatments) complement IPL and can be added to any IPL series. The skin tightening treatment delivers gentle heating to the dermis (skin base) creating improvements in surface tone and tightness. Please inquire to find out if skin tightening is right for you.

What about Accent Radio Frequency treatments? Accent Radio frequency treatments are for the improved tightness of the skin at the surface and deep levels. These treatments are not vessel active, but do complement the IPL treatments for an even greater ‘wow’ effect. We frequently offer Accent Radio Frequency skin tightening in addition to IPL treatments.

What about microdermabrasion? Microdermabrasion is generally not indicated for people struggling with vessels or flushing – it may aggravate the condition. We only use microdermabrasion in the flushed client to prepare the skin to receive Levulan (were appropriate).
