Electrolypolisis
Cosmetic Care Clinic no longer provides Electrolypolisis. As an alternative solution we feel more confident about Mesotherapy.
Electrolypolisis
Electrolypolisis is a technique Canada used in stimulating fat cells and is one of the best alternatives to liposuction (painful surgery requiring anesthesia) in reducing fat cells in the body. The procedure is normally performed on body parts such as the abdomen, thighs, hips, buttocks, and arms, and can be performed fairly quickly in a clinic without requiring anesthesia, as it is nearly painless, and does not require healing time. The electrolypolisis process works with the body’s lymph system to drain (excrete) the fat cells from the body.
Two tiny electrode needles are used in the electrolypolisis procedure (similar to accupuncture needles) and the patient experience very little discomfort. Because the treatment is quick and non-invasive, it also costs a fraction of what liposuction surgeries do, depending on the number of treatments required.
After each electrolypolisis treatment the results can be noticed, by the reduction of roughly one centimeter in circumference of the thigh or abdomen area (or even one dress size). Most individuals will only require a maximum of 6-8 treatments or a reduction of 6-10 centimeters in those areas. Maintenance can be performed once or twice a year.
The equipment required for electrolypolisis is very technical and sensitive, and the procedure can only be performed by a highly-trained technician. There are three phases to the treatment – the process involving the stimulation, re-distribution and burning of dormant fat cell to produce weight loss.
By inserting tiny needles into the subcutaneous tissue, low density electricity is passed through the needles, which releases fat from adipocytes, and at the same time, increases lymphatic drainage, re-tones muscle fibers and induces lypolitic hormones production which will activate the natural lypolitic process. The electrolypolisis procedure lasts 45-50 minutes.
It is suggested two electrolypolisis sessions a week unless it is alternated with another technique.
Not everyone is suited for electrolypolisis treatments- patients with diabetes, heart issues, pregnancy, the elderly, epilepsy, disabilities, protheses, or mental illness may be advised by their doctor or consulting technician that they are not suitable candidates for this procedure, and should explore other avenues of weight loss. Barring these, electrolypolisis is suitable for both male and female candidates of most age groups.
During treatment of electrolypolisis, some patients experience minor itchiness or a tingling sensation in the area being treated. This is quite normal and usually goes away when the current is removed. Some individuals report the experience to be quite pleasant. The need to urinate may increase for a few days following treatment as the body is eliminating the displaced fat cells.
