Cellulite
There are several ways to address cellulite issues. When you come to Cosmetic Care, our knowledgeable personal image consultants will review your issues and help to guide you in your treatment decision path. A healthy balanced approach always works the best. The first step in this journey is to understand why we develop cellulite. Cellulite affects people regardless of their weight. Very thin individuals may struggle with cellulite too. Cellulite is a gradual process that results in the production of dimples in the skin.
The basic Cellulite problem is a vicious circle caused by:
Poor local tissue circulation
Poor lymphatic drainage
Clusters of fatty cells – which can expand with weight gain
These basic problems lead to the accumulation of tissue toxins (break down products of cell metabolism) and poor tissue oxygenation. In response to this unfavorable environment, bands of connective tissue become tough and shorten down. The tough fibrous connective tissue bands pull the overlying skin down forming dimples. Cellulite is actually the production of depressions and dimples (not ‘bumps’). The results are the orange peel appearance that affects so many of us.
Cellulite Prevention: Everyone should begin with a healthy diet – high in water intake (2 liters daily). Exercise can help to reduce the fatty pockets (although is does not address the fibrous bands or accumulation of tissue toxins).
Active Cellulite Treatment: There are several options.
Mesotherapy: is a technique which was developed in the 1950′s. This technique uses injected pharmaceutical and homeopathic medicines to stimulate circulation, to stimulate lymphatic flow, and to break down fatty tissue. This Cellulite treatment uses extremely small micro needles and is usually well tolerated, with bruising being the most common side effect. A series of these treatments are requires.
Carboxytherapy: is a Cellulite technique where carbon dioxide gas is infused under the skin of the cellulite area using a tiny micro needle. This Cellulite treatment stimulates the circulatory system in the cellulite region. The therapy causes the toxins to be flushed out and new nutrients to be delivered to the tissue. The main side effects of this treatment are a small amount of bruising and occasionally a temporary puffiness of air under the skin.
Accent Radio Frequency: this Cellulite treatment uses radio frequency to create deep therapeutic heat. The heating of deeper tissue causes new collagen to be formed, and the circulation to be increased. In addition, the Radiofrequency breaks down the fatty pockets. This Cellulite treatment is done as a series. The results of this treatment build gradually. This treatment works well with all our other cellulite services including Mesotherapy and Carboxytherapy. We welcome your questions.
Ultrasound Hydolipoclasia treatment consists of injecting moderate volume of saline solution and lypolitic agents at either fatty or cellulite areas, and then applying ultrasound for 15 minutes. The ultrasound at the fatty tissue will destroy fatty cells (adipocytes). Their contents are eliminated through lymphatic and circulatory systems. The ultrasound effect causes thermo-genesis that burns fat and breaks down fibrotic tissue.
